Who We Are,
What We Stand For
The Marcellus First Responders Committee was created by a group of community members, local veterans, and first responders who saw an opportunity to give back to the people who serve our community every single day.
What started as conversations about support and appreciation quickly grew into a shared mission: to create meaningful ways for the community to stand behind our local first responders and veterans, not only during emergencies, but in everyday life.
As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, we are committed to turning community support into real impact through both large-scale projects and smaller acts of appreciation that remind our first responders they are valued.
One of our first major initiatives is the planned remodel of the upstairs of the Marcellus Police Station, creating a more comfortable and functional space for the officers who serve our community and surrounding school districts each day. We are also proud to be bringing the Marcellus Hometown Heroes Banner Program to our community, honoring local veterans and service members in a visible and meaningful way.
At the same time, we believe support can also look like the smaller things; coffee shared with officers, meals delivered to fire and rescue teams after long shifts, thank-you gifts, community events, building improvements, and moments of connection that strengthen the relationship between first responders and the people they protect.
Above all, we believe first responders deserve to feel supported by the community they dedicate themselves to serving. Our goal is to continue building projects, partnerships, and opportunities that reflect the gratitude, respect, and pride Marcellus has for those who show up for others every day.
